Spending one day at Clearwater Beach, Florida is absolute paradise. With it’s famous beaches and breezy parks, you’ll find something to do all day long. The beautiful thing about Clearwater is the proximity it offers, putting you right in the middle of everything. One of the best ways to spend your morning here is taking a stroll down the white sands.

The Pinellas County coastline is rated as one of the best coastlines in the country. Each of the local towns have beaches, parks, and visitor centers available nearby. Aside from a number of parks in Clearwater, some of the best destinations in the surrounding area include Central Largo Park, Hammock Park in Dunedin, and Fort De Park in St. Pete.

Different causeways over the waterways provide access to the beaches. You can walk, bike, drive, or take a bus over the causeways. To avoid traffic, leave in the morning or late evening. Sunrise and sunset are the best times to be on the beach and there’s nothing quite like the white, sugary sand that crumbles softly beneath your feet.

Clearwater is, by far, the largest, most popular beach in Pinellas County. To get there, take Clearwater Memorial Causeway Bridge from downtown Clearwater out to Mandalay Avenue; the trip is less than five minutes with no traffic. The views along the way are absolutely breathtaking. There are plenty of stores like Walgreens, Publix, local shops, and organic vendors available downtown and along the way.

You can either drive or take a trolley to get to any beach or town along the coastline. This is a great way to site-see or explore the area. Mandalay Ave runs north and south along the entire coastline of Pinellas County. There are a number of national franchises and local spots available along Mandalay Ave where you can sit down to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a cocktail.

Once volleyball nets break out on Clearwater Beach, you know it’s about to get busy. Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach and the entire coastline are typically buzzing with tourists, locals, activities and events throughout the day. One of the busiest spots is Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill. Stay the day and enjoy the sunset or the late night scene; a number of bars along the beach often stay busy until late into the night, affording you more time to enjoy this beautiful area.
