Rhode Island’s Pawesome Pet-Friendly Restaurants

There’s no need to leave your four-legged friends at home when it comes to these Rhode Island restaurants. Whether you’re craving seafood by the shore or burgers in the city, there’s a place for every taste and tail wag at these pup-friendly spots!

O’Brien’s Pub (Newport)

Recognized as the Best Neighborhood Bar in Rhode Island for four consecutive years, O’Brien’s Pub is a cozy lunch and dinner spot in Newport. Enjoy the fresh air on the spacious patio with your leashed pup, and indulge in bar classics like a Reuben or buttery Lobster Roll. Wash it all down with an ice-cold beer as you play pool, arcade games or catch the game on TV. Ask for a doggie goodie bag – they’re filled with treats for your precious pooch!

Julians (Providence)

Julians, a trendy pub known for its rustic, eclectic decor (the bathroom walls are covered with Pez heads), features a menu celebrated for its house-smoked meats alongside a wide array of vegetarian options. Bite into egg noodles with marinated crab or pan-seared lamb loin. Visiting for brunch? Try a Bloody Mary and one of the house-favorite hashes like the Vegan Hash – home fries smashed with tempeh sausage, caramelized onions, and vegan pepper jack cheese. Dogs are welcome to dine outside – water and treats are provided!

Windjammer Surf Bar (Westerly)

Savor the salty breeze and soak in coastal views alongside your leashed pet at Windjammer Surf Bar. With oceanfront seating, including umbrellas and palm trees, you can relax in the perfect setting for cocktails, live entertainment (weekends after 9 pm), and tasty food like burgers and fish and chips throughout the summer days and nights. Plus, you can indulge your pup’s palate with their special doggie menu (pup cup, dog beer, bacon, chicken and more).

BLU on the Water (East Greenwich)

Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of Greenwich Bay at BLU on the Water, which is open for lunch and dinner. With outdoor tables and a dedicated doggie menu (chicken breast, a beef burger, or filet mignon), your pup can join in on the waterfront fun. Fan favorites from the human menu include calamari, lobster rolls, and mahi mahi. There’s also daily live entertainment and unique specials like Taco Tuesday or half-off bottles on Monday.

TwoTen Oyster Bar & Grill (South Kingstown)

At TwoTen Oyster Bar & Grill, ocean flavors meet South Kingstown’s Salt Pond charm. Indulge in locally farmed oysters, fresh seafood, and signature cocktails on the outdoor patio alongside your furry friend (If you’re lucky, they may bring out a burger for Fido). Don’t miss out on the Colossal Platter, featuring two dozen oysters, one dozen little necks, six shrimp, and a side of house-made lobster salad. TwoTen also hosts events like buck-a-shuck and “Beatz & Bingo.”

Apponaug Brewing Company (Warwick)

Quench your thirst at Apponaug Brewing Company, where the Pawtuxet River provides a serene backdrop for craft brews and canine companionship outdoors on the red-brick patio. Chow down on pub faves like fried pickles, chicken wings and nachos piled high with all the fixings. Grab a house-made beer from the tasting room like the Pontiac – an American Ale with notes of grapefruit and cantaloupe. Stop by for $5 pours on Thirsty Thursdays. The brewery also hosts events like Paint & Sip and sushi-making classes.

The National Hotel Tap and Grill (New Shoreham)

Unwind with your furry friend at The National Hotel Tap and Grill.
