If you’re looking for the perfect Barbie daycation – why not spend the day in Malibu? From surf lessons to luxury shopping and a trip to the spa, this itinerary will make you feel like you’ve stepped out of Malibu Barbie’s box.

So grab your shades, don your best beach-inspired outfit (preferably pink) and get ready for a day of fabulous adventures, chic dining and gorgeous ocean views.

The Best Morning Ever!

Kickstart your day with an elegant brunch that offers Mediterranean meets Malibu vibes at Geoffrey’s. Indulge in organic watermelon salad with wild arugula and feta cheese, or try the decadent lobster quiche while taking in the stunning Pacific coastline. If you’re in the mood for a healthier option, head to Marmalade Cafe for their mouthwatering egg white frittata paired with house-made granola.

A delicious bowl of watermelon salad.

Now, it’s time to hit the water and make Ken proud! Dive into the surf culture of Malibu with a private surf lesson from AquaSurf. Glide gracefully on the waves, embrace the beachy breeze, and capture those #BarbieLife moments on your board as you learn basic maneuvers from a certified instructor.

After your lesson, take a moment to unwind with a serene tour (by reservation only) at the Getty Villa Museum in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood. Experience the allure of Greek and Roman art, wander through the tranquil gardens, meditate by the reflecting pool, and pose for a selfie by the column-lined walkways. Best of all, admission is free – because Barbie knows the best things in life should be enjoyed by everyone (plus, her money is plastic).

Grab lunch at Malibu Farm Pier Cafe, where locally sourced, farm-to-table cuisine meets a dazzling ocean backdrop. Sip on a glass of sparkling rosé and bite into flavorful dishes such as vegan coconut tofu or avocado lox toast with smoked salmon, ricotta and capers. Alternatively, if you’re in the mood for some modern bistro vibes, Ollo is the place to be. Enjoy their farm-to-table plates in a chic setting that Barbie would approve of, from filet mignon chili to grilled artichoke with lemon aioli.

Lunch done. It’s time for retail therapy at the Malibu Country Mart. This upscale open-air lifestyle mall offers a treasure trove of chic boutiques and home decor spots. Channel your inner fashionista as you explore the latest trends at shops like M. Fredric, Nomad Malibu and Sunroom. Grab a pink drink at Starbucks to keep the energy flowing, and browse the art selections at CANVIS.MALIBU, or try on some of the fashion-forward athletic wear at Vuori. Can we get a pair of running shoes in poppy pink, please? Keep an eye out for your favorite celebrities; many Hollywood stars shop here.

Shopping is exhausting, so why not pamper yourself with a late-afternoon spa treatment at Spa Calamigos? Located at the Calamigos Guest Ranch and Beach Club in Malibu’s wine country, this spa will have you feeling like a true Malibu goddess. Relax, rejuvenate, and recharge with a luxurious Malibu Glow facial, align your energy center with a soothing chakra massage, or enjoy an invigorating earth and sea scrub.

An energizing crystal massage to align the chakras.

The Best Night Ever (from Now until Forever) !!!

It’s time to give Ken his due (since he’s always number two) with an early evening trip to Payson Library’s Surf Museum at Pepperdine University. Featuring the private collection of surfing enthusiast John Mazza, the museum is home to 30 historic surfboards that date back to 1910. Snap a photo of the 1959 Pat Curren Sunset Gun, marvel at a paddleboard from 1932, and give your Instagram feed a sneak peek at iconic Australian surfer Nat Young’s board from 1970.

Wrap up the day at The Sunset Malibu on Zuma Beach for an unforgettable oceanside dinner. This beachfront gem offers a relaxed atmosphere and boasts breathtaking sunset views of the Pacific. Treat yourself to a Barbie-themed feast for dinner, starting with a delectable shrimp cocktail. Then dive into the king wild New Zealand salmon, followed by a scoop of refreshing fruit sorbet. And for the grand finale, toast to an incredible day with a glass of pink champagne.
