Beaumont Inn
Once a women’s college, the charming Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg now welcomes guests to stay or dine, surrounded by 19th-century splendor. This 1851 Greek Revival building began as Daughter’s College, a renowned school for women that offered natural science, philosophy, ancient and modern languages—an unusual curriculum for women at the time. In 1917, the building was purchased by a graduate of the school, who transformed it into Beaumont Inn in 1919. Over 100 years later, it’s still owned and operated by her descendants!
Three onsite dining locations share a single award-winning menu, boasting southern fare like two-year country ham and “yellow-legged” fried chicken—both original recipes passed down for five generations. Enjoy your meal in the formal Main Dining Room with period features, in the lively Old Owl Tavern, or at the wood-paneled bar in cozy pub The Owl’s Nest.
