Great Lakes Science Center

Great Lakes Science Center, a top-three finisher in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award for Best Science Museum, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2022. The Science Center is home to the NASA Glenn Visitor Center and makes science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) come alive through hundreds of hands-on exhibits, temporary exhibitions, the Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater, historic Steamship William G. Mather, daily science demonstrations, seasonal camps, and more. This summer, don’t miss the Science of Rock N’ Roll, open now through September 5. Guests can channel their inner rock star in the instruments gallery, explore the recording experience by mixing tracks and stepping into the karaoke booth, and examine how rock music is composed by learning the science behind the tone, pitch, key, rhythm, tempo, and harmony. The exhibition also looks at the physiological effects of rock music. You may be surprised to learn what happens to your brain and body chemistry when you hear your favorite song! The technological advancements that led to the modern concert experience, the history of rock music, features on careers in the music industry, and so much more await inside this immersive exhibition.
