Historic Railpark and Train Museum

At the Historic Railpark & Train Museum in Bowling Green’s old L&N Train Depot, uncover the powerful stories of African Americans who shaped the railroad industry. Explore the role of Pullman Porters, who fought for labor rights and created the first all-Black union, and trace the Great Migration, when thousands rode the rails seeking new opportunities. In the depot’s original “Colored” waiting room, artifacts and photos reveal the realities of segregation on the tracks. Visitors can also book a private viewing of the rare #109 Glasgow Railway Segregated Passenger Car, a powerful reminder of the struggles—and resilience—of those who shaped America’s railways.

Accessibility: The museum includes ramps, elevators, and wide pathways for full accessibility. The historic five-car train has steep steps and narrow doorways/hallways, which may limit mobility.
