Kentucky Horse Park

Celebrate horses and their riders at Kentucky Horse Park, an expansive horse farm and museum complex.

Among its many attractions, visit the International Museum of the Horse, the world’s largest museum dedicated to horses around the world and their unique relationship to humans. At the Black Horsemen of the Kentucky Turf exhibit, learn about the Black Kentuckians who built the foundations of Thoroughbred racing in the early Derby days when Black jockeys excelled—before Jim Crow-era segregation pushed them out of the sport. This exhibit ensures recognition for and preserves the stories and contributions of Black horsemen. Trolley tours, horseback rides, and much more are also available.

Accessibility: Kentucky Horse Park is a working farm on rolling hills. Paths between buildings and barns are paved, but there may be inclines and declines. The International Museum of the Horse is ADA-accessible, with elevator access between floors.

Three people view colorful jockey-themed artwork and portraits on a museum wall, with a large mural of a jockey on a horse in the background.
