Boozy Brunch: Dallas Spots with Drinks in Mind

,

SHARE

Dallas loves brunch and the drinks that go with it. It’s socially acceptable to drink at noon as long as you have some pancakes or eggs to go with it. So go ahead, hit up one of our Staff Picks for a boozy brunch time.

HG Sply Co.

Lowest Greenville

This popular spot fills up fast, but the unbeatable patio on the roof has some great views of downtown– and its own full service bar.

Social House

Routh Street

Delicious brunch with a youthful vibe, Social House’s $10 mimosa carafes are easy on the taste buds and your wallet.

Ellen’s

West End

Ellen’s is a Southern brunch feast with a tagline that says “It’s Brunch O’clock Somewhere.” This classy spot serves brunch every day, day and night. The classy vibes will make you feel like a southern bell and the full service bar adds just the dash of liquid courage you need to conquer the week.

Menu

Jonathon’s

Oak cliff

The portions here are massive. Heavy plates of chicken and waffles, sausage links, house-made biscuits and more are balanced with clean cocktails. Hand-mixed and upscale, anywhere else in Dallas these cocktails would cost about as much as the food.

The kir royal, made of sparkling wine and Chambord, is a refreshing pallet cleanser. The wicked ginger, a mix of Deep Eddy lemon, cranberry juice and ginger beer cuts through a greasy meal. And the staples: mimosa, Irish coffee and bloody Mary, are unfussy and just right.

Menu

Public School 214

Uptown

Don’t worry, the food here is nothing like what your childhood school fed you. The brunch menu is mercifully short and to the point and the same is true for the cocktail menu. Choose a $7 cocktail carafe with purchase of an entrée. Pick from four classics: mimosa, bloody Mary, michelada or beermosa. The clean decor and spacious bar stocked with craft beer keeps the theme from being kitch. In fact, you have to pay attention the see the school theme, but once you do, you’ll notice composition notebooks, pencil sharpeners and baskets of apples.

Menu

State & Allen

Uptown

This chic spot is a bit pricy but you’ll feel like your eating breakfast at Tiffany’s. Come for the social scene and stay for the Bloody Mary bar. It’s a good spot to splurge.

Menu

Beto & Son

Trinity Groves

Mexican food with a twist is the hallmark at Beto & Son. Their brunch prices are unbeatable and their cocktails are one of a kind. Sip a liquid nitrogen margarita, liquid nitrogen frosé (frozen rosé) or a liquid nitrogen pina colada. Their margaritas are top notch and the Latin Cocktails will cool you off, even on the hottest Dallas days.

Menu

Henry’s Majestic

“Good food. Strong Drink.” is the motto here. And Henry’s Majestic lives up to that motto during brunch with a “sparkle bar.” Choose a sparkling liquor and customize it with juices, fruits and house-made cordials. Enjoy by the glass or carafe.

If you’re looking to kick it up a notch (who said brunch always had to be a lazy affair?) order the 8 AM; nitrous-charged Vietnamese blended coffee with vanilla-infused bourbon.
