Philippe Park is the oldest park in St. Pete/Clearwater and a historically significant area. See the Native American mound made of layers of shell and sand at the park – it’s the largest mound of its kind in the region. Philippe Park is also where the first non-native settler, Count Odet Philippe, settled. He brought the first citrus trees to the area and several of these citrus trees remain in the park.

Philippe Park overlooks Old Tampa Bay and has picnic shelters with grills, areas for fishing, playgrounds and restrooms. Tall, sweeping trees provide plenty of shade and historical markers throughout the park expand on the park’s significance. It’s a quiet spot to enjoy nature or grill your fresh catch of the day.
