Festivals in Texas Hill Country have their own unique flair with foodie favorites, local-made wines, outdoor music and holiday celebrations making up just a few of the fun times. Mark your calendars for these can’t-miss fests and get ready to celebrate.


Hill Country Jazz Festival: San Marcos


Hear big bands, individual instruments and Texas’ most talented on the campus grounds of Texas State University. The festival is fun for Jazz newbies and aficionados alike and also provides a chance to catch up-and-coming talent in the Austin music scene.

Old Settler’s Music Festival: Tilmon


This annual Americana music festival has been putting on a show since 1987. Bring out the entire family for camping, arts, crafts, food and drink and enjoy the sounds of Texas’ roots and folk music.

Boerne Bierfest: Boerne


Sip and savor craft beer at this fest in support of the arts. Completing the experience is authentic German entertainment and contests along with live music, art demonstrations and of course – delicious beer.

Luckenbach Food Truck Festival: Luckenbach


Taste the region’s flavors with food trucks from Austin, San Antonio, Fredericksburg and more. Pair foods with local wine and listen to live music acts.

This family-frienedly festival combines live music with outdoor activities, encouraging camping, yoga, mountain biking, hiking and more. Dance in a silent disco, learn something new at a workshop and listen to the beats from the two main stages.

Dripping With Taste Wine & Food Festival: Dripping Springs


Take on Texas Hill Country wine with scores of vendors to taste and try. Beer-lovers will also be pleased, and local, fresh fare provides plenty of opportunities to chow down.

Oktoberfest: Fredericksburg


Get out your lederhosen. Oktoberfest is the city’s largest festival, celebrating Fredericksburg’s German heritage. Dance to oompah music, peruse crafts and arts, shop handmade goods and enjoy the Texas twists on a German classic.

Gruene Music & Wine Festival + Craft Beer Event: Gruene


Eat, drink and dance at this local festival. The curated wine and craft beer always offer something new.

Lights Spectacular: Johnson City


Held during the holiday season, this light show has lit up Johnson City for 30 years. Nearly the entire town is bedecked, head-to-toe, in lights. Themed events bring more holiday cheer.

Christkindlmarkt: New Braunfels


Get your holiday shopping done with style. The German-inspired Christmas market features unique vendors along with music, food and Gluhwein, a hot spiced wine from German.
